Queers Out and About (Kochi) hosted their first session of Hard Conversations at aikyam space on Sunday, February 16, 2025.
We organised this experimental session to learn how to become compassionate listeners. A skill most of us don’t have and one we need to acquire as we see increasingly polarised queer and social justice spaces. We want to build a community in Kochi that knows how to navigate conflict, work through hurt and any misalignment in values within the community. We want to be a community that knows how to be gracious to each other in having the hard conversations.
We are very grateful to Shibli Suhanah who helped us structure this session and to Rakhi Krishnan for stickers, badges and chocolates she provided for this session.
