Activity

We are exploring the idea of making frames from sustainable materials. They would display the Preamble to the Indian Constitution. We visited IKEA to compare frame designs and chose one we liked as a reference.

The idea is to make a similar model with carpenters. They come from Fort Kochi and Mattancherry. We will use local materials where possible. We hope to support local craftsmanship and make the frames more sustainable.

Learnings

Looking at existing frame models helped us choose a clear design reference. We will discuss it with local carpenters. The next step is to find out which local materials could work. We also need to know what the frame would cost. We need to know how we could make it more sustainable.
