- Role Model: Get support to set up your own hyperlocal Cooking Club and build your space and community in Fort Kochi, Mattancherry, and nearby areas.
What happened at Cooking Club
A trial cooking session tested a future paid experience
On 14 March 2024, we ran a trial cooking session at aikyam space to plan future paid experiences. The cooking itself went well, but we realised that a good visitor experience needs more than just cooking. We discussed preparation, storytelling, how to talk to participants, giving clear instructions, and making sure guests have a good time.
The cooking club made prawn pickle together
Members of the cooking club came together to prepare prawn pickle. We exchanged tips, stories, and plenty of laughter. It was a lively session that celebrated both culinary skills and the value of learning from one another.
The cooking class made Pidiyum Kozhiyum
We ran another cooking class at the space on 22 March 2024. Community members came together to make Pidiyum Kozhiyum. We taught them the recipe, step by step. People shared techniques, stories, and laughed.
Community members learned to make rice pathiri
Community members came together for a cooking session to learn how to make rice pathiri. We prepared the dough and then fried the pathiris. The class became a space for sharing food, skills, and conversations.

Community members came together for a chicken pickle making session, learning the process in detail through practice. We prepared ingredients and mixed spices. The class became a space for sharing skills, conversations, and learning together.
The cooking class made a biriyani side dish
On 14 March 2024, we ran a cooking class where participants learned to make a biriyani side dish, one step at a time. It was a straightforward session that involved learning, tasting, and sharing.
Community members learned to prepare sambar mix
Community members gathered on 14 March 2024 to learn how to prepare sambar mix. We shared knowledge, techniques and stories. A simple recipe became a moment of learning together.
