Three women sit on a wooden floor in a room with sewing machines in the background, working together on a patchwork project. One woman on the left, wearing a brown headscarf and patterned top, sews fabric pieces by hand. In the center, another woman in a denim jacket and black scarf crouches, observing and assisting. On the right, a woman in a blue top and peach-colored garment arranges small fabric squares on a white cloth. Scissors lie on the floor nearby, and a finished patchwork piece rests in the foreground. A red cloth covers one of the sewing machines behind them.

Achieving 4 centimetre grid precision in Kantha panels

Facilitated by Shabana K H

We worked precisely on the 4 centimetre grid today. We made a complete Kantha panel with no major setbacks. Each craftsperson got a personal file to keep their trial designs. We handled these files with great care.

Tracking progress step by step turned mistakes into visible steps. The team felt deep ownership, pride, and growing mastery.

What the activity directly produced: sessions held, people reached, things made.
  • 1 Kantha panel
  • Personal portfolio files, one per craftsperson

What changed for the people who took part, and what showed it.

Clear precision on the 4 cm grid, and a whole Kantha panel completed without major setbacks.

(We observed it)
