We made precise 4 centimetres by 4 centimetres base squares by ironing fabric onto stiff paper with adhesive backing. This gave the layers a consistent structure for assembly. Combining handloom fabric with canvas and paper layers made the material dense and hard for standard hand tools to pierce. To keep precision without straining the assembly, future work will test finer needles and lighter primary fabrics. We will reserve heavy handloom textiles for the final outer layers only.
